Outdoor and backyard weddings
Spreads that hold through a long afternoon without a warming setup.
North of the Fraser, Metro Vancouver
About 40 minutes from our kitchen
Yes. We cater Middle Eastern and Armenian food in Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows, about 40 minutes from our Abbotsford kitchen through Mission. Backyard and outdoor weddings, family gatherings at home, celebrations of life and office lunches all work here. Call with your date, guest count and venue.
A mezze table plus charcoal grilled mains, delivered set up and ready to serve, or collected from our Abbotsford kitchen. Backyards, decks and tents far more often than banquet rooms. This is a city that hosts at home.
Maple Ridge is reached most easily north through Mission and then west along the Lougheed Highway on the north side of the river, which makes it a longer run than the distance on a map suggests. About forty minutes in normal conditions. The alternative, west on Highway 1 and north over the Golden Ears Bridge, is usually no faster from where we are.
The events here lean outdoors. With Golden Ears Provincial Park close by and a lot of properties backing onto green space, a good share of what gets catered in Maple Ridge happens in a yard, on a deck or under a tent. That is well matched to how this food works. Dips, salads, bread and grilled mains sit happily at room temperature, so an afternoon celebration does not need a warming setup or someone assigned to watch the trays.
It is also a city where people host at home rather than book venues, which is the situation we were built for. Our family spent years laying out Sunday lunches for however many relatives turned up. A drop off spread is the same idea, just without the host losing their whole day to the kitchen.
Not on the list is not the same as not possible. Tell us the address when you call and we will be straight about it. The full picture of how we work is on our catering page.
About 40 minutes via Mission. A workable regular run, though we ask for a little more lead time than we would in the core valley.
| Detail | For Maple Ridge |
|---|---|
| Drive from our Abbotsford kitchen | About 40 minutes, approximately. Longer than the map distance suggests, because it is not a highway run. |
| Route we take | North on Highway 11 through Mission, then west on the Lougheed Highway along the north side of the Fraser. |
| Pickup instead of delivery | Not really practical. Eighty minutes of round trip driving is a lot to add to your own event day. |
| Notice that suits this city | Two to four weeks for a gathering, and a few months for an outdoor summer wedding. A little more lead time than we would ask in the core valley. |
| Event sizes this distance suits | Medium and up works best. A full backyard wedding or a hall event justifies the run more than a small drop off. |
| Where Maple Ridge events usually happen | Backyards, decks and tents far more often than banquet rooms. This is a city that hosts at home. |
What we cater here
Mostly these four. Anything built around a shared table works, because a mezze spread scales by adding trays rather than re-planning the menu.
Spreads that hold through a long afternoon without a warming setup.
Drop off service so the host is not stuck cooking.
Warm, generous food for a hall or a family home.
Weekday drop off for teams in Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows.
We deliver it set up and ready to serve, or you collect it from our Abbotsford kitchen at no extra cost. Not really practical. Eighty minutes of round trip driving is a lot to add to your own event day.
Everything on our menu can be ordered as a catering spread: charcoal grilled kabab and shish tawook, toshka, kibbe, rice, tabouli and Armenian salad, warm bread, and dips by the half kilo. If you are still working out quantities, our guide to planning food for 20, 50 or 100 guests does the math with you.
Before you call
Yes, both. We come north through Mission and then west along the Lougheed Highway on the north side of the river, roughly 40 minutes from our Abbotsford kitchen. Give us a bit more lead time than you would for a Fraser Valley event and we will get the spread to you set up and ready to serve.
Yes, and this food suits outdoor events better than most. The mezze, salads, bread and many of the mains are good at room temperature, so a long afternoon reception does not need chafing dishes or constant attention. Tell us your venue and setup when you call.
More than you first think, because outdoor events run long and people graze rather than eat once. Mezze handles that well: the table stays interesting for hours instead of being cleared after a single service. Our guide to how much Middle Eastern food you need per person walks through it.
It depends on your guest count, how much of the spread is grilled mains versus mezze, and whether you want drop off or more help on the day. We would rather talk it through on the phone than post a number that fits nobody. Call us with your headcount and occasion and we will walk you through it plainly.
These are the pieces that answer the questions Maple Ridge customers ask most, written before you spend money rather than after.
