Weddings and receptions
Shared-platter service that suits a large room.
Metro Vancouver
About an hour west of our kitchen
Yes, for planned events of a decent size. Burnaby is about an hour west of our Abbotsford kitchen over the Port Mann Bridge, so Middle Eastern and Armenian catering here is a scheduled trip rather than a quick drop off. Weddings, corporate functions and large family celebrations suit it best.
A mezze table plus charcoal grilled mains, delivered set up and ready to serve, or collected from our Abbotsford kitchen. Banquet rooms, community centres and cultural halls. Bigger rooms, fixed start times, and parking that needs thinking about.
We will be straight about Burnaby: it is roughly an hour from our kitchen, west on Highway 1 and over the Port Mann Bridge, and traffic can make that considerably worse at the wrong time of day. We do cater here, but it is a planned trip rather than something we can slot in casually, and it makes far more sense for an event of decent size than for a small drop off.
When it does make sense, it works well. Burnaby has a genuine appetite for this kind of food and a strong tradition of large family and community gatherings, particularly around the Deer Lake and Metrotown areas. Shared-platter mezze service is a natural fit for a big room, and it does not carry the staffing overhead that plated service does.
Timing is the thing we plan around most carefully here. We build the schedule backwards from when the food needs to be on the table, accounting for the drive and for the bridge, and we would rather arrive early and wait than cut it fine. If your event has a hard start time, tell us that first when you call.
Not on the list is not the same as not possible. Tell us the address when you call and we will be straight about it. The full picture of how we work is on our catering page.
About an hour from Abbotsford, more in heavy traffic. Best suited to larger events, and we plan the timing carefully around the drive. Tell us your hard start time when you call.
| Detail | For Burnaby |
|---|---|
| Drive from our Abbotsford kitchen | About an hour, approximately, and meaningfully more in afternoon traffic. |
| Route we take | West on Highway 1 over the Port Mann Bridge. The bridge is the variable, not the distance. |
| Pickup instead of delivery | No, not sensibly. Two hours of round trip driving is not a reasonable ask on your event day. |
| Notice that suits this city | Several months for a wedding or a large function. This is a trip we schedule rather than fit in, so early is genuinely better. |
| Event sizes this distance suits | Larger events only, honestly. At an hour each way a small drop off is hard to do well. |
| Where Burnaby events usually happen | Banquet rooms, community centres and cultural halls. Bigger rooms, fixed start times, and parking that needs thinking about. |
What we cater here
Mostly these four. Anything built around a shared table works, because a mezze spread scales by adding trays rather than re-planning the menu.
Shared-platter service that suits a large room.
Planned drop off for company events and larger office gatherings.
Large-format trays with dietary questions answered directly.
Generous spreads for gatherings that run past a hundred.
We deliver it set up and ready to serve, or you collect it from our Abbotsford kitchen at no extra cost. No, not sensibly. Two hours of round trip driving is not a reasonable ask on your event day.
Everything on our menu can be ordered as a catering spread: charcoal grilled kabab and shish tawook, toshka, kibbe, rice, tabouli and Armenian salad, warm bread, and dips by the half kilo. If you are still working out quantities, our guide to planning food for 20, 50 or 100 guests does the math with you.
Before you call
Yes, for events of reasonable size. It is about an hour each way over the Port Mann Bridge, so it is a planned trip rather than a casual drop off. Weddings, corporate functions and larger family celebrations are where it makes sense. Call us with your date, guest count and venue and we will tell you honestly whether we are the right fit.
We do not publish a hard number, but at an hour of travel each way, a small order is difficult to do well or price fairly. Call and tell us the guest count. If it does not make sense we will say so rather than take the booking and disappoint you.
We build the schedule backwards from when the food needs to be on the table, with the drive and likely traffic built in, and we would rather arrive early and wait than cut it fine. If your event has a hard start time, mention it first thing when you call.
This food does, because it was built to be carried. Dips, salads, bread, rice and grilled mains hold their character over a drive far better than plated restaurant food, which is why mezze became the food of gatherings in the first place. We pack for the journey rather than for the kitchen counter.
It depends on your guest count, how much of the spread is grilled mains versus mezze, and whether you want drop off or more help on the day. We would rather talk it through on the phone than post a number that fits nobody. Call us with your headcount and occasion and we will walk you through it plainly.
These are the pieces that answer the questions Burnaby customers ask most, written before you spend money rather than after.
